Description

David Dodson tells the story of the time he spent with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as one of about twenty college students who got to listen to, and ask questions of, Dr. King on August 23, 1963. David remembers the details of that day, and what Dr. King said, including a response to a question his brother Mark Dodson asked Dr. King about there being communists in his organization. This is a story about a more intimate moment with this great man. And it’s also a story, as David Dodson put it, about Dr. King’s “humility and openness in seeking to spend an afternoon with a group of young people who had little understanding of the burdens he was carrying.”
